Original art created in traditional media can be a wonderful keepsake to brighten any living space or can make for a memorable gift. I'm often available to create ink and watercolour art upon request. Pets, family members or art created with a specific holiday or event in mind are some popular subject requests, but it's really up to your own imagination.

If interested in requesting a commission, please check this space. If it says 'OPEN' above, I'm currently taking commission requests. If it says 'CLOSED', I'm most likely having to focus on some time-consuming projects for now but will return to 'OPEN' status as soon as possible.

Also please return to this page or follow me on Instagram to look for announcements regarding art commission special events. I have them several times a year and sometimes they feature themes for drawings ('Characters In Fur', for example, is about pets and other animal friends), offer special deals (like February 2021's 'Characters of The Heart' which was a pay-what-you-can event), or serve as fundraisers for specific causes (December 2020's 'Characters Of The Season' raised funds for Black Lives Matter Canada).

Sizes and Prices

There are currently three sizes of ink and watercolour art commissions available.

'Postcard' - 5x7" - $75 (CAN)

'Full Page' - 8x10" - $150 (CAN)

'Large' - 11x14 - $300 (CAN)

If you live in the Prince Edward County, Ontario, area, the art is available for pick-up at Kelly's Shop (197 Main St.) in Picton. If mailing to an address is required, there is an additional charge of $30 (CAN) for shipping and handling.

Payment is made via etransfer or PayPal - both using niall.eccles@gmail.com

Subject Matter - Photos

It's entirely possible to create a 'cartoon' version of a beloved photograph...

Subject Matter - Imagination

...or to make up a funny or fantastical scene based on your whims or most imaginative ideas.

Rough Art

Every art commission comes with the chance to review the rough penciled art before moving to final ink and paint. All input and suggestions welcome.

PDF For Prints

If you'd like to use the art for Christmas cards or make prints to give to several different family members, it's possible to do that too. While I don't provide the prints or cards themselves, each commission comes with a print quality PDF that a printer or print service could use to make your cards for personal use.

Social Media

All Commissions also come with a 1350x1080px version suitalbe for sharing online (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)

FAQ

Can I sell prints, cards or other merch made from the commissioned art, or use it to promote my business?
Sorry, no, art commissions are for personal use only. To commission art for illustration or business purposes, please visit the Illustrations page on this site.

Is the art framed?
No, all original art is unframed, but created at sizes which are common for store-bought frames.

I don't like this oval shape that the art is drawn in; can you do a piece that goes right to the corners? Yes, but it will cost a bit more.

I'd like a drawing of a house or other archtecture - do you do those? Yes, no prob!

How long does it take to create a drawing? Deadlines are, by necessity, flexible. If there is a certain date or event that you need the art to be ready by, I'm happy to discuss it with you.
